Critiquing one another's work often leads to a new perspective on your own photography that you might not have considered before. As photographers, we often get so invested in what we're doing that we fail to see some of the small things that can make a photo better. If another person can point this out to us, it can lead to improvements in our work.
Be prepared to receive advice that you don't like, or don't agree with. If you receive what you think is a bad comment- first, think about the comment from their point of view. They may well just have a point. However, if you still don't agree, be polite and respectful, or better yet- don't reply. Never get into an arguing match with someone who doesn't share your opinion of your photo. It is, after all, only an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

The mind usually flows to the lightest area of the image. The sliver of light blue between the tree trunks captures undue attention. I would darken this area very slightly. Or consider a different crop. This slight bright water area is on the edge of the frame. Thus, adding to its attention. |

Really nice framing. Love the complementary colors, too. |

The top third of the image isn't in focus. Need more depth of field. The bottom area is crisp and has pleasant light, but the top does have enough interest for me, in its pattern, form, or color to give it 2/3 of the frame. |

Again more depth of field would help. The blurry foreground is a distraction. Great lead-in line with the railroad tracks! |
