Critiquing one another's work often leads to a new perspective on your own photography that you might not have considered before. As photographers, we often get so invested in what we're doing that we fail to see some of the small things that can make a photo better. If another person can point this out to us, it can lead to improvements in our work.
Be prepared to receive advice that you don't like, or don't agree with. If you receive what you think is a bad comment- first, think about the comment from their point of view. They may well just have a point. However, if you still don't agree, be polite and respectful, or better yet- don't reply. Never get into an arguing match with someone who doesn't share your opinion of your photo. It is, after all, only an opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.

Thanks Robert; good critique. I had lightened the tree and maybe I can increase the setting. |

Thanks, Robert. I think this image was sized as composed so I can't create more spacing to the right but for future comps I'll pay attention; lightening an object is possible. Good comments! |

Thanks Robert. It was a stacked image to reduce the low light noise but the stacking software affects the bunker and rock mound blurring it so that part was a single shot blended into the Milky Way comp. |

I think you misunderstood my comment about composite; I was suggest enlarging image into 4 quarters then mounting it with spacing between each quarter to get a cool 3-D effect of the image. |
Cuffed
Folsom Street Fair, San Francisco. One of the more elegant handcuff arrangements. The leash goes to her collar, and he's roughly squeezing her tush.

Blue is a choice. It is, after all, the blue hour. I don't want it cropped on the right because I want the balance of the pier and left boat. There's lots of choice about how to do it. I've put up some of the choices on https://refilman.myportfolio.com/oued-bou-regreg . The first three are the raw normal, minus and plus exposures. The four that aren't this picture are views in Aurora 2019. This picture is a combination of the elements of those. But I can really see lots of different ways of doing this picture. |

I've tried it with more contrast, but it blows out the center of the flower and drags too much attention over there. The other pictures in that collection are here: https://refilman.myportfolio.com/in-a-different-light |

I agree with the other comments; tough to crop but try leveling horizon zoom in tighter to make the left edge of the casino building (rectangular part) the left edge of the image so boat will be cut in half, remove the dead space foreground of the water and the right side ends just past the flag; your casino becomes the focal point but is offset to the left and you have the flag balancing out the comp. The image is there but just pull it out. |

I agree with Robert, try adding more contrast to the foreground brushes and trees and sometimes I make the image look more like a pano by cropping to a 16x9 format and lessen the deaspce of the sky. Another thing you might try (I just zoomed in on your photo) is to crop tightly on the center mountain but keep it offset to the left with the big tree in front as the foreground; the mountain in the back comes into play giving you a lot of depth! I like the elements in your photo, you have a lot to work with once you decide what you want to emphasize in your comp. |
